My friends Mark and Mandy chose the Philadelphia skyline as their inspiration for their wedding stationery. The skyline was featured on their save the dates, invites, menus, programs, place cards, goody bags, and I suspect I will be receiving a skyline thank you note shortly. Their wedding color palette was navy, white and silver. It looked great on paper and in person. Navy bridesmaid dresses and silver and white details throughout the ceremony and reception site carried the theme through. They were married on the roof of a downtown Philadelphia hotel with guess what? A partial view of the skyline! Here is a pic of some of their perfect paper:

Linen and Lace
A little while back I blogged about the Showerette I was throwing for my college best friend, and last night was the party. We had a fantastic time!!! Bdette and I, who are co-MOH's in this wedding, transformed her apartment into a lacy bachelorette pad fit for a Queen. One of our favorite decorations used were paper doilies I picked up at Michael's Crafts for $4. I made a wreath to decorate the door using small round doilies taped to the door, and then I threaded a light blue ribbon through them to make a circle.
And Bdette had the great idea to sew them together to make a sort of banner across the windows. If you had told me a week ago I would be sewing something again after the veil and sash I made last month, I would have laughed. I could probably use sewing lessons, ha! But this was actually easy, I just threaded white string through the holes in the large square doilies.

Because we invited guests to give a linen or lace gift we wanted to display the lingerie gifts. We used a white satin ribbon and made a clothesline. We tied the bras, panties and nightgowns to the clothesline with tiny pieces of blue ribbon. It looked really cool!!

Perfect Paper: Summer/Floral
Welcome to a fun new feature - Perfect Paper, which will showcase invitations, programs, menus and the like, which I make, receive or find online that are AMAZING. First up are Shortcake's invites, which are an original design by her aunt Lisa B. Shortcake loves Hydrangeas and they were used in the invites, bouquets, tables and the entire color palette of the wedding.

Paint your own Cake Plate

I created this cake plate at The Painted Plate in West Chester, PA. It is a 14 inch plate with a 4 inch pedastal. You can create a similar one for around $60. Above is a pic before it was fired, and below is the final result. I added a strawberry and a skateboard as icons of the couple to be. Many of you have seen Shortcake around the site before and today she will marry the man of her dreams!! And her wedding cake will sit on this plate. I'm so excited to be a part of her day. More to come after the wedding!
